Hi! Welcome to our blog in the month of August! :)

You must have been wondering, what have the children learnt this month?

We have been touching on this topic, Going Places. The children learnt about matching things to places. They were able to classify “sofa and television in the sitting room", “bed, pillow, blanket in the bed room", and "kitchen utensils are in the kitchen" by using picture cards and concrete objects.

For art and craft session, they learnt to recognize and match simple shapes (circle, rectangle, triangle and square) and they were able to say the names of the shapes and also match and sort colours when asked by the teacher.

In the home science session, the children experienced the process of making “fruit salad” and” fruit kebab”. Through these activities, they learnt that “fruits “are good for their body".

Below are some pictures of the children experimenting with the different fruits and vegetables in collaboration with the Healthy Lifestyle Week in August! :)

Princess and Sarah were smelling the apples.
Princess said: ”Apple red.”
Sarah said: "Mmm… Nice smell.”

Lu Young and Ethan felt the texture of pears.
Lu Young said: ”Smooth.”
Ethan said: ”Hard.”

The children explored the green leafy vegetable and carrot.
Zhi Qian said: “Carrot is orange.”

Angel touched and smelt the banana.
Angel said: ”Yellow banana.”

The children enjoy eating the banana.
They said: ”Yummy! Yummy! Sweet.”

Song:

*Put your circle in, put your circle out.
Put your circle in and you shake it all about.
You do the hokey pokey
and you turn yourself around,
that's what it's all about!

*Repeat for other shapes like square, rectangle, triangle
